Week 8 Comments and Feedback

        The feedback I've been receiving has been really helpful. I appreciate the suggestions and criticism. Everyone has been very nice, so I've not felt attacked in any way. Sometimes I have a hard time not going super in-depth on comments for stories. I know Laura will probably make wonderful suggestions for the person, so I usually try to keep my comments shorter. My method is to jot down any major things that stand out to me, good or bad, and end on a positive note. I've definitely seen some unique writing that makes me think about how I want to do my own stories.
        I like the blog comments and it's really nice to meet everyone in the class. Comments on stories help me to see people's different writing styles. I find that these comments also help me to decide which stories of mine will become a part of my portfolio. I'm pretty satisfied with how everything is going for my blog and project. I plan to keep doing my feedback in pretty much the same way. I might try to focus more on suggestions for things people could add to make their stories better.


        I've found that feedback a lot of times gets me thinking about my writing. Sometimes it helps me to think of things to add/change beyond what the commenter mentions. A small comment about liking one thing or being confused by another lets me know what I need to expand on. Even looking at my work as someone trying to find something to comment on helps me to come up with ideas.

Hey everyone, my name's Casey. My major is Biology-Pre PA(Physician Assistant) and this is my second year at OU. I've considered changing my major and career path multiple times, but I keep circling back to this. Week 11 Story: The King and the Deer

He spent many days in the forests and wilderness of his kingdom. On one occasion, he spotted a particularly large and beautiful deer. His heart was dead set on conquering the creature. The king urged his horse faster and faster, racing after the deer beyond his companions. At the very last moment, the king saw a chasm ahead and yanked the reins. He and his horse skidded to a halt just before falling over the cliff. The deer had not been so lucky and laid at the bottom, still alive but gravely injured.         The king looked down at the creature he had been determined to kill, and his heart broke. He could not kill the animal now that it had been wounded. It wouldn’t be proper sport since he had an unfair advantage. But he also couldn’t leave the animal to die there.
